    Re: Hey Rickster! I Didn't Buy A D70 Today!
Yes, my Nikon family got a new member last month too. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to the grandaddy digicam in order to say hello to the newborn coolpix :)

Hey, while you guys are upgrading to digital SLR's, I'm busy at the bottom catching all the medium format deals that keep popping up. Everytime someone buys a DSLR, the price of a used Mamiya gear comes down $1. Keep buying guys! :D

Enjoy your present Speed! I think know who your first post will be a picuture of ;)

And we wives take far too good a care of you boys.
    No arguement there D!!!!!!!!!!

" Ok, truth is I'm absolutely green with envy. Even if I am just gathering dust on both the D70 AND the F5 at the moment. Sigh."

That's OK. I was envious of you when I found out you had a F5! Turn about is fair play. ;-)

"And what's the deal of coming to Raleigh and not letting me know?? I hope you enjoyed your time here."

Actually, I replied to a post of yours about three weeks ago telling you I was coming up that way. Suggested that you and the husband join us for dinner one night. I guess you never read it. Next time I'll send you a PM. I still have yet to meet another PR photog in person! Of course, if you and the husband want to come to the beach this summer, we've got a five bedroom house.....we're 20 minutes from the beach.....we have a boat.....

We did enjoy our time in Raleigh. I HATE sleeping without Dawn next to me, and I do not sleep good when I'm away from her. It was wonderful having her come along.

    Thanks for the comments D!

Congrats to both of you! I'm sure you'll be making thousands of family memories with it,

    Very, very nice!!!
Have fun learning it Speed. In the end, I think you'll really appreciate it. Burning CCD is a lot less commitment than burning film. I think you'll end up more creative as a result.

    Cheers,
    Tim

p.s. Lava and Seb, you guys crack me up.

I don't know if it's possible to love her anymore than I do! But if it's possible, this is the sort of thing to definitely appreciate and love her more than ever.

    Thanks for the comments!

Trust me, I do! She is WAY too good to me. More so than I deserve, without a doubt.

And I've already begun the showing her my appreciation process.

Every man should have a wife like mine!

And I mean that. She is my wife, my friend, my confidant, my companion, and far and away the best thing that has ever happened to me. Frankly, I'm not totally sure what she sees in me (she says she married me for the sex) and I can't believe she spoils me like she does.

    Let me repeat myself:

Every man should have a wife like mine!

Why Paul, whatever do you mean?

    ;-)

I've got to get the flash now. Hmmm. Maybe if I take Dawn to Myrtle Beach for a weekend? Melting pot for dinner, hottub, massage at the day spa, ...this could work.

Absolutely! I give credit where credit is due.

"Could be she knows that you're a man among men!"

Maybe. Or maybe it's because I make her laugh. Maybe it's the way I hold her. Maybe it's the slow, passonate kisses. Oh, who am I kidding? It's the sex!

Thanks for the comments buddy! I'm looking forward to learning to use the D200. Can't wait to start using histograms, and playing with white balance, etc.

I'm also looking forward to not having to worry about having film developed.

And for the record, LL and Seb cracked us all up with their comments. Dawn laughed so hard when I told her about their wise cracks.

Congrats there buddy!!!! It's a great camera and it feels like a pro camera. So far I've been really impressed with the camera.

Make sure you update your software with the newest updates so it can read the new D200 files. Oh...can I offer $50 for the F5, and $10 for the film. Just look at this way...I'll save you $500 in processing. :)

    Another comedian!

    ;-)

You miss your F5. Tell the truth. Yeah, the F6 may be the greatest film camera ever, but it just isn't the same as oldsides, the F5.

I found out today a pro here in town recently got a D200. It's a VERY popular camera.

How how do I find out about the latest software updates? I definitely want to make sure I've got the latest, most up to date software I can get.

And when can we expect that pro review of the D200? Still wringing it out I take it?

Thanks for the comments my friend!
