My Water Towers on V
Hey, just wanted to share this. Four prints from my N.Y. water towers series will be used on the set of the ABC television series V. This is a remake of the original series back in the 80's. A set decorater contacted me and purchased four of the prints to be matted and framed and used to dress the wall of one of the New York characters.
The series starts thisTuesday, Nov. 3rd on ABC at 8PM EST.
The four pieces from the series can be seen on my blog
The promo trailer for the show is posted as well
It looks to be pretty good and hopefully it will stay on a few seasons!

Re: My Water Towers on V
They chose well!
Haven't decided whether to watch it or not yet. Story line is a bit of re-run.
Looks to have been done well though.
Opening scenes with giant space ships is a copy of Independence Day.
That aside I hope to be able to spot your shots. Didn't see them in the trailer.

Most excellent! Congratulations. I'll have to wait until V is on Netflix (I don't have cable.) So I'm glad that I could see them on your blog!

Frog, I was surprised when I asked the decorator what show these will be used for, especially having to sign a release so they could use the prints in their set when she said V It does look like a good remake so far and your right , the opening scene is like Independance Day.
btw, the trailer was out before they had shot much of the show and before they had bought the prints so they would not be in there.
Thanks Frog, Larry and Cindy

Great Gary...I plan on watching. I haven't been real thrilled with remakes...Battlestar Galactica was a real letdown. Nice special effects...but the whole thing just didn't work for me. Hopefully, this one will be better. I didn't follow the original as closely so probably won't be let down. I'll be watching for your stuff closely!!!!

Thanks Ken, i did not follow the original very much either so this could be like a new thing for me.
I really have no idea if they used the prints in the first episodes or not but i would love to know if anyone spots them
I specifically asked that they not be placed in a building that was going to be destroyed. . . :)

Paul, thats great that your getting so much use out of it! I always smile when I open up an older photo and the exif file says "Nikon Coolscan" as the origin of capture.
It really is a great piece of equipment

Thanks for the support RD and Paula! Not enough to make it big, but it would be a novelty to see them on the screen.

Re: My Water Towers on V
Hey thanks Jet, Jeff, and Caleb. I have no idea when or how they will be seen on the series, but just hoping they surface at some point.
the series was shot in Vancouver and i think is being passed off as New York in many of the scenes. A friend of mine in Vancouver said she watched the premiere and recognzed the buildings and even a local bike messenger she knows. the bike messenger was playing a part of a protester. I shipped the prints to Vancouver and knew the set was there but did not know they were shooting the entire series there.
I heard ABC will be showing the episodes on their website starting November 7th so I should be able to catch up on whatever I miss.

Re: My Water Towers on V
Vancouver, wa?
Probably BC.
Its very confusing for us 'tonians.
There's a proposal to rename Vancouver, Wa. to Fort Vancouver which is what it was to start with I think. Lewis and Clark era.

That's terrific news, Gary! Great to see that your amazing work is getting the attention that it deserves.
I'm not much of a TV watcher so I'll probably miss it but good to know that you were "in it".
