    my son
I've got 30 gigabytes of images on my hard drive that I've taken in the past 9 months, yet when I went to my 20th reunion, I couldn't find a current picture of my own son to show to people. So, this weekend I rectified that situation.

And here's another. He's quite a snowboarder and wakeboarder, so he was thrilled to try his hand at surfing. This was at the Kalahari Resort, an indoor water park in Wisconsin Dells.

I shot this late at night, after dark, when the lighting was really bad. You can tell it's handheld at a slow shutter speed, and while I tried to force the flash it didn't fire. I've probably overcompensated for the underexposure in Photoshop, but I wanted to bring out the subject. :) Plus I shot jpeg, thinking I'd get more speed taking shot after shot. It didn't work very well, and I ended up tying my hands behind my back for post-processing to bring out the shot to its potential. I've got some pretty good shots of strangers that I shot RAW the next day. :(

OK, enough apologizing. I want to go back another weekend when I'm feeling better, maybe bring a couple little kids too, and take a lot more shots. That water park has such potential for some great shots.

Looks like a strapping young man with lots of daring. 8th grade ... 14 going on 8(sometimes)... tough years those mid-teens for boys. :-) Nice shots.

    Good looking kid.
You did a good job getting the second one as good as you did.

I thought it might be a picture of a kid with a hooded sweatshirt all drawn up tight. :D
