    My Quickie Yellowstone Trip

I got to go to Yellowstone National Park this past weekend to check out a Canon workshop with Lewis Kemper, one of their Explorer of Light pro photographers. I took along a Canon EOS-1D Mark III I've been testing. It was a super fun little trip and a full story on the Canon Nation Parks worekshops is in the works, as is a full pro review for the EOS-1D Mark III. In the meantime, I posted a little teaser with some nice photos in my blog. There are even some wildlife photos! Whoever heard of a Photo-John wildlife photo!?!?

I'm not sure whether I think this photo of one of the geysers is good or not. But I put a lot of work into it. So I'm posting it anyway

    Re: My Quickie Yellowstone Trip

I'm really looking forward to reading your full write up on this trip, since I passed up the chance to attend one of these workshops last week. I'm still kicking myself a little for that. I'm curious to know which part of the park the workshops met at since the person I talked to at the Grant Village visitor center (South end of park) didn't know anything about it.

I checked your blog - and really enjoyed reading it and seeing the pics. They were all nice........but the one here is my favorite. It's awesome. I think you need to hang it somewhere - or send it to me and I'll hang it.

Seriously, John. It's beautiful. I had the opportunity to visit Yellowstone many years ago. What an experience! It's one of the most beautiful places I've been to. Too bad I wasn't into photography then......I did take some pictures but haven't a clue where they are. So I'm enjoying yours.

Thanks, Liz. Usually I have a pretty good feeling about which of my photos work and which ones don't. But this one is pretty different for me. Maybe I should try that Photo Critique forum

    Nice!

Thanks for posting some photos, Melanie! That last one is extra nice. It was a busy, tiring trip. We had a chance to relax a little there, while we were waiting to eat lunch. I think that place was called Roosevelt. It was named after Teddy Roosevelt because he liked that spot. Correct me if I'm wrong...

I ate there a few years ago!! I wasn't feeling well after a hike in a very HOT rain jacket, and ended up loosing my lunch out behind the building. The food was very good, the first time around!!
