Some of you may remember a thread I started this past spring about a guy at work
wanting to see some of my pics for a possible catalog cover. This was right after the
company had a major restructuring in February. I ran into the guy a couple weeks after I
sent him a CD and he told me that the new creative team had decided not to use photos
for our broadside (clearance) catalogs anymore. I was a bit bummed, but I told him to
keep the CD just in case they change their mind.
I got an email at work today telling me that they had chosen one of my photos for a
clearance catalog cover! They had actually picked two photos and were making the final
decision this morning. They wanted to know if I could get them a high res. version of the
photos today. I had forgotten all about it and I was shocked when I read the email. My
mind started racing, wondering what photos they chose. I have had a few hundred pics on
the CD I sent.
Here are the two images they chose. The waterfall pick is the one they are going with. I
have to admit, I was a little surprised they picked either one of the photos, and I like the
tree shot better between the two. I didn?t do anything with either of these pics, other than
maybe some USM. There is something to be said about not deleting your files. You
never know what someone else is going to like.
I believe the catalog will drop on Oct. 15th as a stuffer. That means it will be put in with
just about every order we ship out, at least until the we run out of them. So if there are
any Lands' End customers out there, you may be getting a copy of one of my pics with
your next order!
