    My 1000th post!

Well, it's been just over a year, and I'm finally joining the 1k club! What a journey it's been since finding this site. I have gone from taking snapshots to taking and making photos. At least I think I have. Last week I had my very first photo shoot. I took senior portraits for a friends daughter, and her daughters cousin. What a wonderful experience that was! The mother, and both girls are thrilled with the photos. I was pleased with them, but there is a lot of room for improvement. They are happy tho and that is what's important. The shoot was in the early afternoon with a very bright sun that I didn't like much, but we dealt with it. My friend told me this morning that I should be getting a call from another woman wanting me to take her son's senior pics too. I don't think this woman has even seen any of the shots I took, just heard that I did a good job. Gotta love small town word of mouth advertising! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

    Enjoy.

    On hitting the big 1000!

And on your success as a senior portrait photographer! Word of mouth is the best advertising IMHO. Plus, the more you do it, the better you will get.

    Now on to 2000...

Nice job! I like the angle on the first one, and it looks good at that angle. One idea you (or they) could try is to have a mat cut for it that angles the image inside the mat (so the window sill is level). Then put it in a square frame. Just a thought.

Congrats on your 1000th post. NICE portraits, dude, and of course, very PRETTY subjects too.
I wish I had the will power to make time for photos the way you and most of the folks here do, then maybe I might hit my 1000th post too. Maybe I just need pretty models to shoot and then it would be easy, eh? Just kidding-pretty girls actually make me nervous during photo shoots.

wicked creative photo...I REALLY like that.

I like the the others of the girl as well...suggestion hope you don't mind....just what I'm learning from work...

shooting from an angle and shoulders back and one slightly lower in front thins a girld arms and shoulders out...especially those athletic girlies....glad business has picked up tis the season for seniors!!!

    congrats on your post

Thanks for the advice Nat, I don't mind at all!! It's been a good week, I reached my 1000th post, and yesterday the angled pic of Alix was the feature photo of the day on the home page!!
