    Mt. San Jacinto
I had thought that after the clouds had rolled away it would reveal a lot more snow on our local mountains but unfortunately it appears that not that much actually fell, despite the amount of precipitation we had. Anyhow, here's the tallest rising mountain in California (truly from seafloor to summit, a bit over 11,000 feet). Shot this on my lunch break near my work.

    Re: Mt. San Gorgonio
Facing north of Mt. San Jacinto, across the San Gorgonio Pass, is Mt. San Gorgonio, to the left of this picture but covered in clouds. I'm gonna attempt this again tomorrow morning before I go to work but at a higher elevation. IF I get up in time to do it, lol.

Forgot to mention that Mt. San Gorgonio is also in excess of 11,000 feet, but because it actually starts at about 3000ft it is not truly as tall as Mt. San Jacinto.

I must be either really bored or tired tonight because I feel like I've given a bit of a geography lesson without giving any frame of reference.

So, below are two more pictures. The first is a picture of the San Gorgonio Pass taken from Mt. San Jacinto (about 2 months ago), in which one can clearly see Mt. San Gorgonio. The second picture is approximately where I was at on Mt. San Jacinto when I took the picture of the Pass area.

Okay, I think I can go to sleep now. :)

    Ray,

Impressive shots and looks like a beautiful place to shoot. Such majesty in those mountains! I must say, I never invisioned California with such beautiful mountains, though I'm guessing this is probably in the north east section of the state? I've always been on the coast...never got to see snowcapped mountains in California!

    Great shots,

    Jared

    Hey Jared!

    Nice to see ya.

Northeast? Hah! That's right here in the desert, about an hour east of L.A. and about 25 minutes west of Palm Springs. This is where my wife and I finally moved to about 5 months ago.

By the way, I'm gonna send you a pm. Got a question for you.

Never would've guessed! Regardless, neat shots and a beautiful mix of mountain and beaches California has!

Check your PM, I messaged you back.
