mountains!

On one of the last days of A-basin, my friend and i hiked around to the back side of the mountain. it's not open this year, but next year they will build a lift and open it all up.
i took some shots and wanted some critique on them

#1 east side of the bowl

#2 this one shows the west side of the bowl. those cornices and rocks look like they're going to be fun to shoot next year.

#3 here is the view from the top of the bowl. on the very far right, in the center of the image, you can see the top of keystone mountain. in the background is Breckenridge and on the very far left is Quandary peak, and 14er.

Would make a great 180 plus degree pano.

great idea, i'll try to shoot for that next time.

Nice shots ZL. GREAT contrasting. Only thing I would like to see is a little more sky. Especially with those little clouds dotting the sky. Adds a touch more character to pull it all together.

i just need to fork over the dough for the 16-35 L II
then all my problems would be solved.

I feel your pain. Would love to be able to shell out for the Tokina 12-24 :(

Beautiful landscapes though. I hope I can make it out there at least once in my lifetime.

I like all three of them. I hope you don't mind me chiming in given my low post count, I don't mean to come off as pushy or over opinionated.

I like #2 best because of the way the foreground follows the flow of the terrain in the middle of the shot into the corner. I second the more sky opine. Foreground is kind of distracting. It does add a sense of space, but its not real interesting. Perhaps this is because there is little sky. I love the valley beyond the first ridge in shot #2, its sort of like the valley of shadows, with the light coloring the tops of the next range. Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I have lots of shots of A-Basin and often the sky, because of the weather up there, can make the shot. it also allows for great post editing work. Great shots.
