    Morning rest

I woke up at 5:30 am this morning-no alarm clock mind you-and could not get back to sleep. So, I went for a drive toward the coast taking U.S. 101 to Decker Canyon, where I took this shot of a hawk resting. He must have been taking it easy after a big breakfast or something!

The picture of the crab came from Leo Carillo beach about 15-20 minutes later. The tide was really low and these buggers were caught everywhere in tidepools. This image was shot at ISO 200 and is straight out of the camera except for a bit of cropping and sharpening.
