Really, really nice photos John! Four or five to one isn't bad at all!

    Re: More Self portrait fun...

I haven't posted much lately but here's the most recent self-portrait, playing in the street.

It's neat to see some old faces and some new ones.

Well, I'd tried the ol' proverbial "Self-Portrait-in-the-Mirror", but it just didn't come out right...

All right, I'll play along. Although this isn't really a true self portrait. My wife shot it last week. She suggested I pose on this dangerously slippery slope of wet bedrock, and so I obliged her. Not sure if she was looking to get the insurance money or what, but anyway this is my victory stance over the elements as I came away unscathed.

    Luc-
These were taken on my way to Interbike. I think I've told you about the ride outside Yosemite. It's really beautiful and a pretty unique mountain bike ride for California.

Not cheap one like your 50mm either. I have my eye on a 400mm prime and 1.4xTC !

400mm prime? If I were your wife, I would probably disown you for just buying that. But that's assuming its the 2.8.

Here is my self portrait- long overdue.

I wanted a shot like this for one of my classes. Lighting was a radioshack strobe light, and lots of attempts to get the photo the way I wanted it.

Very nice effect. Those unsuccessful attempts are some of the most fun you have in photography. I do love the process.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Here's my latest attempt, camera on a tripod that belted onto the back seat, on a timer+10 shots, next time I think I'll do it while driving in a better setting and without that "seat cover."

I will own that one day and probably a 300mm)

    Re: More Self portrait fun...

    From recent SF Gathering
View from Twin Peaks, I figured I had to make it my own, what better way than by putting myself in the shot?

And with lots of contrast and brightness changes:

And another, up with the brightness down with the contrast.
