Molten metal anyone?
Had a (rare) slow afternoon yesterday so I took some time to set up the tripod and shoot a pour in the foundry. Tried it with and without flash and liked this look the best. Thoughts?
I just cringe every time I take the camera out there otherwise I'd do more of this sort of thing.

I like the dark background. It make the metal stand out more. Really cool shots.

You can't post here!
Scott,
It's about time you show some photographs!
I was begining to wonder! :D
Good stuff!
I think the second image is the better of the two. It has a better "industrial feel" to it.
The composition is better too. The strong line of the molten beam, leading to the guys face. The lighting.
Make sure you post over in what I think is the best forum here, the Critique Forum.
Don't be stranger here on anywhere!

Hey dude!
Good to hear from you. How is married life? I've just been lurking around, adapting to life with digital before I had anything worthy to post. You'll be interested to know I'm partially a Nikon guy for the time being, maybe for good if the new Minolta DSLR isn't up to snuff. Have to wait until at least Fall to see. In the mean time I'm using a Coolpix 5700 but frustrated in "prosumerville". I promise to post more. See you here and on the critique forum!

These are really nice images. I would have to give the nod to the second just because of the blown doorway or window behind that is a little distracting. But both are top drawer. Love the red glow illumination on the worker. Great job controlling your exposure. Very nice post.

Right On!
Go Nikon!
You'll have a complete Nikon system in no time!
Married life is good!
I am doing well. The leg is as good as new!
Working on getting back in shape!
Going to the Fruita Fat Tire Fest next month.
Life is GOOD!
What about you?
