Cool series, thanks for sharing!
Re: Model Aircraft Flying Field
Very cool! I just got my 1st RC plane 2 weeks ago. I would love to build my own in the future, but for now, I need to learn how to land the one I have. :)
Re: Model Aircraft Flying Field
Thanks for the comments Megan and Mjs.
mjs, thats awesome you fly RC. I used to myself and stopped for awhile. Now that I saw first hand how this hobby makes people happy I feel like I need to get back into radio control airplanes and helicopters again.

I do really enjoy it. I have a pretty cheap starter plane but it's a lot of fun. I was flying on my lunch break yesterday and there was a pair of bald eagles soaring over the field I was flying at. After flying with eagles it made going back to work seem pretty lame.
Re: Model Aircraft Flying Field
wow, brings back memories, nice work on a series here.
Here in Brooklyn, New York we have an old military airfield called Floyd Bennett field. The PARCS flying club, one of the largest on the coast, fly there. i was a member for years. I had a Piper Cub with a 7 ft wingspan dressed in the WW2 Olive drab with Allied stripes, powered by a Zenoah gasoline engine. . .amazing presence and sound when it flew by at low altitude.
Also had a Ultimate Biplane with a huge Supertigre engine that would take off pretty much vertically and keep going straight up till it was out of sight. the freefall down and pull out the last second. . .lots of fun.. . .could get expensive too :)
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more from this group.

cool, Mike. Landing is the toughest part of learning, but once you get it a few times on your own its a cakewalk from then on. Enjoy!!
