Mini DV Reader

Is there any such reader (firewire or usb2) that can read the contents of a mini DV tape other than a camera? I want to sell my cam because I never use it, but still want to have access to tapes that I have recorded.

There are mini DV tape decks that you can buy but they cost more than a camera does, they use them for professional work. Only think I have ever seen. Never seen anything like you are talking about though.

You can, but it needs to be captured using a capture card and software, then rendered to compatible format for DVD. Ulean Video Studio is a program that does this, Adobe Premiere as well, Pinnacle Edition, Pinnacle Studio are a few programs around.

It isn't as simple as it may sound, it is quite a complicated thing to get it to the quality you desire.
