I need to find a stat. I need to know about how many digital cameras were sold in the US last year. Another stat that would be good is how many film cameras were sold. I don't know where to begin. I'm trying to find out the numbers of cameras sold and if possible what amount (of each type) were sold to professionals vs. regular joes.

Any help would be appreciated. I really would like to know where to start this search as I have no Idea where to begin.

At the very least I am trying to find out how many of each type of camera was sold to people in the U.S.

Didn't try the link, but maybe the PMA (Photo Marketing Association) could help. They're the industry organization who has the big show in Vegas every spring to show the latest stuff, and I'm sure they'd have a good idea if anyone would.

Try www.ask.com. I was able to find how many digital cameras were sold in 2004 pretty quickly, I imagine if you keep searching you can find more recent numbers.
