Lovin the 50 f1.8

Just being looking a few of the snap shots from last week I took with the Nikkor 50 f1.8. This was just a quick grab shot of grandson Jack to test the exposure in the room where I was shooting. I am impressed with the sharpness of this lens for $100 it has to be very hard to beat. This is a drastic crop and I think it held up pretty well. Full frame first than the crop.

Well, I can see the Nikon 50mm/f1.8 gives the Canon 50mm/f1.8 a run for the money. This is one (2) of the best I've seen from a 50mm lens.....any brand. Of course, in the hands of a good photographer, I wouldn't expect any less. Besides the subject is beautiful!

I so got to get me one of those.

As I said in another thread it has been years since I used a 50mm much. It was the first Nikkor lens that I had back in 1971 when I bought my first Nikon 35mm. I always viewed it as an in between lens not wide enough for some things and not long enough for others. However with the digital multiplier factor it functions more like the 85mm that I used so much with my film cameras. I am very please at the way it performs as well.

Oh and thanks Liz and JETA for you very kind comments about Jack. He has been a real source of pride and joy for me the last two years. He loves to have his picture taken and will run to check the LCD when we get done. He also know what button to push to make the camera take a picture and will do it every chance he gets.

Careful, OT, that 50mm can get addicting! LOL

Great shots of a very cute grandson. Now use that late afternoon golden sunlight on his eyes and you'll really be amazed with your lens. :)
