Long weekend photos
I didn't go to work on Monday
Here a few pics from the weekend
Click on the pics to see them larger
Saturday ended with a cool looking sunset
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148340&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="313" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4431.jpg" border="0" alt="Sunset" /></a>
Sunday , we drove to Jocotepec, a town on the shore of Chapala , largest lake in Mexico
(large enough to be seen on a map of the whole country), the light was going down, so there are only a couple of shots from that trip
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148409&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="313" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4468.jpg" border="0" alt="Formation" /></a>
The water on the shore had a murky brown color, so I made a selective B&W
A view of the lake
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148426&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="312" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4474.jpg" border="0" alt="Chapala Lake" /></a>
While I have lived in Guadalalajara since 1984, it is my first time in this place, incredible enough it is only 1 hr drive away
Monday: Drove again to Jocotepec, there are many interesting birds that I wanted to shoot with better light
Plenty of white herons
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148428&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="312" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/1024_DSC_4542.jpg" border="0" alt="Birds at Chapala" /></a>
Some blue herons
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148429&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="469" height="313" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4548_Large_.jpg" border="0" alt="Birds at Chapala" /></a>
This walkboard is closed to the public, but the herons don't care much about it being closed.
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148430&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="312" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4557_Large_.jpg" border="0" alt="Walkboard" /></a>
Before going back to the car saw this little fellow jumping around on the trees, this image
is a 100% crop, I couldn't get closer before it flew away, although it was gracious enough
to step of the shade
<a href="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=148427&size=big&cat=500&ppuser =284461"><img width="470" height="313" src="http://gallery.photographyreview.com/data/photography//500/medium/DSC_4575.jpg" border="0" alt="Sneaky little guy" /></a>
That's all folks :D

Re: Long weekend photos
Any comments ? critics?
or is it so perfectly self explanatory that everyone went mute in awe :p

Re: Long weekend photos
Wow. I don't know if you want my company, but I would have been happy to do any of these. The first one is just gob smackingly cool.
I like the darker heron shot and the last one as well. I think there is a big overlap between your aesthetic and mine. I don't mean to insult you by saying so.

Mute with awe -- Very nice! Love the birds at attention, the dramatic yellow bird, and dark blue heron and the "yellow brick road"

Re: Long weekend photos
IMHO you had a very productive weekend of pics. I commented on three of these in the gallery just missed this thread somehow.

Re: Long weekend photos
Very fruitful weekend Armando...great shots there, this time I hvae several favorites from the batch...the fisrt one has a killer sky and composition great PP work!
No2 you nail it perfectly with the selective color, and number four is a great image by itself, love the angle of the shot...bolds nicely the wingspan of the subject.
