Learning Flash (not the kind that goes on your camera)
I bought a copy of Flash MX because I just have always been amazed by Flash websites, especially Flash photo galleries. My problem is I can't seem to learn this program for the life of me. It is not like anything I have ever used in the past.

I bought a book but it wasn't very clear so now I've given up. Anyone recommend a better book or a website or advice on you learned to master it?

I wish there were classes in my area to learn this stuff ;o)....hmm wonder if there are.

I'd like to learn Flash as well. I have Flash 5, and I just taught myself how to create a moving text flash - just a basic text. I'd like to expand this into graphices and photos.

    Good Luck!

There are lots of really good tutorials built right into your Flash MX - my first suggestion is to do ALL of them step by step the way it shows you to do them. This will teach you a lot about your software.

Check http://www.macromedia.com - I think that have some online tutorials and classes as well.

You could also go to the message boards at http://www.flashkit.com and pose the same question there. Those folks really know Flash and could probably recommend reading.

I'm fairly proficient in Flash, but not in advanced action scripting, but I'm one of those "manual readers". I pick up the manual, read it through and then play with everything in a program until I feel comfortable with it. This works for some people, but not for others.
