    Re: late road home

    Smart Wombat, Hello.

The title of this thread is in itself most photographic and it requires no setups and just simple participation. It is the perfect concept for keeping photography in my mind without being a burdon. This is the easiest thread to participate in that I've ever seen on any web forum but I'm most surprised at the small number of actual posters who've contributed here.

I've no ability to respond to threads with quick one liners so a thread like this suits me right down to the ground .... and keep me on track (sorry).

At 1,300+ viewings now ... 'Late Road Home' should qualify as a somewhat successful thread.

Congratulations SW for starting a most enjoyable thread. I see no reason to finish a good thread early.

    Warren.

I met Van Gough this evening and he told me about a side road to a 'Valley with Trees and Cottage Under a Stormy Sky', on the Late Road Home.

    I'm pleased that he did.

    Re: late road home

The late road home has been excellent this week ... I'm having this week off work thanks to a sports injury, yippee. There is nothing to do apart from to take photographs and spend much time on photography review.com Forum this week.

Three new 'Late Road Home' images. It has been a good week so far and it is only day 3, Wednesday.

'Late Road Home for an Australian'. An Australian Pelican. The colour temperature was most surprising when I processed the image. ... the cool monochromatic hues convey peace and tranquillity, very well.

'Passing Dark Passing Storm on the Late Road Home'. It doesn't rain here often, atmospheric skies are extremely rare, even clouds are rare here. One doesn't waste any opportunity to capture atmospherics.

'Late Road Home ...Missing Inaction' I could rave-on for days about the raping of the once mighty Snowy River, no longer one of the great roaring alpine rivers here, and now sadly flowing at only 1/2% of its seasonal thaw flow ... thanks to greedy power companies who have diverted the flow of many rivers. "Missing Inaction" refers to the State government's negligence, denial and inaction to protect our rivers from theft and abuse.

The Snowy was 100 metres wide during the thaw when I was a kid and scary noisy. The weed infested banks that you can see above were huge pristine sand bars at the hight of summer when the river was down to 60 metres wide. We used to camp on them. Nowadays you can't find a sand patch if your life depended on it.
