    Last scans - Nevada
    Last ones! I swear!

Most of these were taken along Rt 50 in Nevada - "The Loneliest Road in America."

#1 Tell me what (and where!) it is and you'll have my everlasting respect and admiration
#2 The open road. Aw yeah.
#3 This tree in the middle of nowhere has been strung up with hundreds of pairs of tennis shoes. Literally, people would have to drive for hours to get here so I guess people just stop and toss their shoes up as they are passing through!

OK all done thanks for looking! :)

I knew the place but I couldn't remember the name. I had to look it up to get the name right. So I guess I get about 50% of your eternal respect and admiration?

Actually, you get my respect, not my admiration ;)

Have you been there? I usually make it a point to stop by and watch all the guys run around on the dunes if I'm driving by. This night I was camping.

I've only driven past it. I was in a hurry to get home from Southern Utah. That part of Nevada starts to feel like the home stretch and it's hard not to be focused on getting through it, if you know what I mean. I have been curious about it for a long time, though. I should make a Carson City trip and do that as a side adventure.

Love the raining stars here and in your other post! How long do you leave the shutter open for to get such an effect? Is that possible everywhere or does the location's latitude have a lot to do with it?

    Thanks Liban

I take star trail shots whever I can. I especially like to shoot under the fool moon as the moonlight will collect on film and appear as sunlight after so many minutes.

I don't remember the shutter length of this one. Judging by the star trails I would say probably 5-10 minutes. That's all you really need to get a moving sky. And yes, that happens at all latitudes. It is of course the result of the earth spinning while your shutter is open. If used intentionally, it can have dramatic results :) Finding the north star and incorporating it into your shot will cause all the other stars to circle around it.

I have plenty of other star trail shot in my gallery if you care to take a look!

    Thanks again!
