    LA Road Trip
I just came back from a little road trip. I went to Southern California for a few days with an 18 year-old pro mountain biker named Cameron McCaul. This is a photo I took near San Dimas, with the Olympus 5060 I'm currently testing. I got some very good photos with it and it's a great size to take on the bike. I also really like the 28mm (35mm equivalent) lens angle.

I just finished shooting studio tests with the Olympus 5060 and I'll be posting them pretty soon. Same goes for the Pentax *ist D.

    Flow Mag Party
Here's a picture of Cameron looking at the new issue of Flow magazine. Look close - that's him on the cover!

This photo was also taken with the Olympus 5060.

Flow magazine is the other mountain bike magazine that kafin8ed's company publishes. Look for the next issue of Alan's (kafin8ed) magazine, Mountain Biking. It has an article on Mtbr.com. Mtbr is the site that started all of this and eventually spawned PhotographyREVIEW.com and PCPhotoREVIEW.com.

    Santa Barbara Action
Santa Barbara has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. This photo was taken near the top of the infamous Tunnel Trail, right above the city. Cameron is pinning the throttle into a big pile of rocks. This is not easy riding but it's super fun and Tunnel has some of the best views of any trail I've ever been on. And yes, you can hike it, too. I recommend it. Just don't forget your camera. And don't forget to take pictures of the view, like I did.

This photo was also taken with the Olympus 5060.

    Penny-
Thanks. I wouldn't have had time on this trip. We were everywhere, and busy the whole time. In three days we were in San Dimas, Claremont, Santa Ana, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Castaic, and Santa Barbara. We rode and photographed at 6 spots and were busy from the moment we got up to the moment we went to bed. I got home at 2:30 AM, yesterday. Maybe on the next trip.

    Photo-John,

Very nice shots and sounds like a neat road trip.

I'm interested to hear about your experience with the 5060. I was very close to getting one at one point. How do you find the response times?

Enjoy the rest of your trip and thanks for the great work on this site!
