Jen & Rob get married (56k beware!)

A few images from my last wedding on Saturday. First time shooting a beach wedding. The ceremony was in Carmel, CA and the bride was a girl I've known since high school. Actually we used to date in high school as a matter of fact. The ceremony was small, and they hired me to just take photos before/during/after the ceremony, and they had the brides father (retired pro photog) and a friend take reception photos since the reception was pretty much family only.

The Groom is active Coast Guard, while his father is retired from the Coast Guard.

    C&C welcome & wanted.

the shot with the two of you under the veil might be one of the best wedding pics I've seen.

Looks like y'all had a nice wedding. I'll be having one later this year.

    Congrats!

Re: Jen & Rob get married (56k beware!)

#15 is perhaps a little too high key?
I'd like to see the uniform cap and her dress just a shade different from the background.

#22 is there something on the wall behind her head?

A shame about the dummy in #2, bet she'd give you a cute smile!

#20 is good, it doesn't look posed, nice focus on her ring.

#6 is very nice, there's something at the top of the arch I think should go - or be better revealed in even the high key. I thought her bag was cut off on the left, but looking carefully I can see it's just the shape of it against the doorframe.
I know it's high key, but can you reveal a little more detail in the folds of the veil?

If it wasn't for the thing on the wall, I'd say #22 steals the show for me.
    Closely followed by #16.

I really like No.6 Scott!. My only suggestion is maybe to add a tad more contrast to define a bit more silhouette. :thumbups:

All are great photos, Scott, but #6, 15, 16 & 17 Rock!!!! The high key shots are incredibly striking.

    Awesome work you're doing.

I like 'em all but #6 jumped out at me too.

Re: Jen & Rob get married (56k beware!)

    Thanks!

SW - When I originally took the shot, this was pretty much what I was envisioning. In 22 I think there is something behind the head that I'll prob take out.

#20 was a candid shot. They were dancing & I saw where the ring was & took the shot.

Thanks for noticing the bag on #6, its cut off due to a little PS work.

#16 was shot & editing with the Nik Color Efex Pro, using the Glamour Glow (If I remember) filter.

    Scott,

Wedding photography isn't something I usually look at, but when I know they are your pics I can't open the thread up fast enough. The one of the veil over the groom is SOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! The couple must be thrilled!
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

Wonderful job Scott. If I had a setting like that I might even consider doing another wedding after 20 years.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
