    Inexpensive Lens for Landscapes

I also recently purchased a Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens. This is another all manual focus, manual aperture lens.

For those of you that don't know me, I came from shooting medium format equipment and developing my film and printing in my own prints in my darkroom so I like doing things "manually"

Anyway, this 14mm is another super-bargain (sub-$300). Sharpness, contrast, and color rendition is superb even wide open. I've never owned a lens this wide so it has been fun to play with.

A sample image. Cropped just slightly. I don't recall what f-stop I shot it at (one of the drawbacks of an all manual lens - there are no electrical contacts to record the shooting parameters).

Also with the Canon 5DmkII. ISO 3200, 1/15s (no tripod).
