    I'm baaaaaaaaaaa-yak!
    Hello friends

I am in Phoenix now after a harrowing 6 day journey across the US. Braving 100+ degree temperatures and myriad of remodelling and unpacking to do I have finally found time to post a hello up here and a few pics.

Phoenix is hot but not like DC. I don't mind being in the desert the mountains around here are gorgeous.

Here are a few from the trip and then a few from before the trip.

1.) Sunset in West Texas on I10
2.) Sunset in White Sands New Mexico
3.) The state of my truck after the road trip. Lors of bugs and we even picked up a tunbleweed somewhere south of Tuscon :)

Six day road trip and that's all you've got to show for bugs? :)

Glad to have you back. I really like the shot of the kids in the back of the convertible.

    Dear Rick,

Welcome to the WEST!! Like the pics. I always hate car trips in hot weather. Oh, did I say that?! :D  I am expecting some thunderstorm pics Rick, and I hope I won't be disappointed now that you are in the perfect place for that sort of thing. Quite. Well, I shall leave you to it. Glad you are enjoying yourself. Peace.

The convertable photo is awesome! Heck, all of them are awesome. I just happen to like the convertable one the best.

The colour and texture you captured in the sunrise shots are incredable, over all very well done!

Glad you arrived safe and with everyone still alive. I moved to Phx from NY and I REALLY wanted to get out of the car by day 3. If you ever go back to the east you'll be amazed that anyone can live there when you sweat as soon as you get out of the shower. Humidity... ugh!

The desert does have it's own beauty. Hope you get to enjoy it.

PS love the pic in the convertible!

    Hey guys!

Thanks. You know I love you all.

Jared: yes, true to my dorkiness my license plate says "WALTRICK" though this week that will change to an Arizona plate and new vanity tag

Almo: you know I'm pacing around waiting for my chnace to take star trails in the desert :)

Brian: we WILL meet in the west!

Ken: can't say I'm enjoying the heat but I will watch out for crazy daughters on the road!

Steve: thanks I like that shot too. And I think there are more bugs than the picture shows :)

    Lara: thanks!

Rebekah: thanks we'll have to meet soon!

Drew: true to form Phoenix gave me lightening shots last week which are on the way this week :)

Alex: thanks! I appreciate the compliments!

2K: our trip was 6 days but we spent a few in Austin where Andrea grew up. It was very nice there! Thanks.

Speedo: thanks dude. You'll get the steady stream of photos just careful whacha wish for ;) Nice bike by the way

Here's my first submission from Phoenix: a sunset shot from the preserve behind our house. Very nice and convenient to have hiking and vistas 2 minutes away. Phoenix is awesome! Our air conditioner has not been working so you can imagine 110 degrees outside and 83 inside  Luckily it was repaired a few days ago.

More on the way, including lightening from my first Phoenix lightening storm (which also ignited numerous wildfires around here unfortunately)

See you soon! Grand Canyon/Sedona photo field trip coming up this year!

Welcome back! Great shots! The kids in the convertible would be a great stock photo! $$$!

My friend always talks about Arizona and how much she loved it. I've been missing Washington State myself - loved it there! have you explored it there yet?
