I'd like to propose a challenge.

I would like you to show me a photograph that best evokes the feeling of a sexy shoulder.

AND/OR

depict through a photograph what the shoulder means to you.


I would like it to be more of an artistic image rather than a simply functional one.

(just a little background: I was in the shower the other day, and I ran my hand over the back of my shoulder. I was suddenly aware of my shoulder, and what it has felt like through time: when I was young and sexy; as I got older; when I was working out and when I felt particularly unfit. It was a complex feeling, and as I tend to overanalyze everything, the thought led me to wondering if I could produce a photograph that depicted what I was feeling. I quickly determined that I cannot (time and equipment restraints), and thought perhaps people here might enjoy giving it a try.

Actually, the photo I envision requires a lamp and reflector, and time, of which I am in desperately short supply. Seriously. I may have the time later in spring, but I wanted to see what y'all came up with before waiting that long.

I'll give it a shot, I'll get a hold of my model.

I've got one...let me see if I can find it. Everyone is back to school and work this week, maybe I'll bust out the camera.

Sounds like i'ts time to break out the D200...

Won't be the first time Adina has stirred the kettle here on PR. Very impressive! Don't think I've seen that one before. You did a beautiful job with the lighting to emphasize the shoulder. Don't know that I will be able to play this one with you guys, but I'm anxious to see what you come up with.

Hi Adina...I think you have captured the theme right on - at least it works for me :D . THe highlight on the shoulder is where its at :thumbsup: . Great image.

I suppose I could take a photo of my wife's "cold" shoulder. She does give me that occasionaly. :D The problem is, it's far from sexy. :p

Nothing as dramatic as what Adina posted, but here are a few humble submissions.

Ironically, the first image is my very first "glamour" photo. Who knew you'd be asking for this six years later?

Speed, nice shots as well! I like them all, although for the purposes of this "challenge" I think the last one works best ... I like the skin tone and the sheen of the skin. Sexy!

The first four were shot with my N80. So these are scans from Half Hour Photo. Not exactly pro quality. The last shot was taken with my D200.

The last one is my favorite as well.
