London Marathon - Didache & overbeyond

    Hi all

Today I (Didache) met up with Tom (overbeyond) for a day's shooting in London. It was marathon day with 35,000 runners taking to the streets. It really was a fabulous day. The weather was glorious and there was a real festival atmosphere everywhere. It was one of the best day's shooting I can remember.

Tom will add some more pictures (as will I) so do check back.

I wanted to start though with just one image. It's a special one.

The runners all run for their chosen charity. The guy here is running for "Help for Heroes" which is a charity dedicated to helping British servicemen injured in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Imagine having your leg blown off over there, and then coming home and running a marathon on crutches. This really is a hero.

So, just him. The other images can wait.

    Cheers
    Mike

I have also a shot similar to Mikes because this athlete is so special.
I really had to keep mike under control. He has graffiti on the brain and given half a chance he's off. So four pictures of the man in serious action.

A man in serious pain ...

One of many wonderful costumes that people ran in ...

    Cheers

Looks like you guys had an active day.
Some of those costumes don't look very comfortable or even fun to run in.
I see 'flora' on many runners. What does it stand for?

Frog - 'Flora' is a low-fat butter-like spread and a major brand in the UK. They are the primary sponsors of the event.
