    Hi-key, natural light

a bit more shadow than with lights, but I'm pretty happy with it...

working on our family xmas. My work card is my dog with reindeer ears and jingle bells

after that first one, I got out my ginormous reflector, helped even them out a little.

How did you manage to get them ALL to look at the camera at the same time in 2. It's perfect!
I love the giggly photographs too though. Lovely and natural. Shows their true personalities.

    Re: Hi-key, natural light

Thanks...in regards to #2, they know the rules. Even that damn dog knows I mean business when the camera comes out.

Actually, it's bribery. All three of them. Our Xmas card is just a few frames after that one...

    thanks!

eta...one more thing. I keep it short. Once everything is ready to go, I round up the girls and the dog. I've noticed in both paid shoots and with my own, those kids are great for the about 10-15 minutes. They don't perform any longer than that. So if there is something specific that mom or dad wants, as soon as I get that window, we do that. Sometimes it's at the beginning, but usually it falls in the middle of the session. Then I'm free to play. For these, I specifically wanted Xmas cards, with both girls, the hats, the jeans, and the dog with her bells. So once I got my window, I got my shots. Yeah, there are minor adjustments I could have made, but with two kids and a dog, I try to run with it.

Thanks Adi. I thought you might have had some doggy treats to hand or something to get the dogs attention

Sweet job. Have you noticed more natural light coming in with all the white stuff kicking it in from outside?

nope, no more than usual. We have about 30 windows in our little house, most of them facing south and west. I think there are 5 on the north side. Our house is pretty bright year round.

    thanks!

By the way, I'm asking Santa Wife for the 4x6 Larson for Chritsmas. At least we can write it off with Uncle Sam and with a January dance recital looming, I'll make the price back in just two shootings, considering the news lately, maybe sittings or standings would be a better choice of words.

LOL! Obviously, she has all three trained. Probably uses the same method on each, I'd imagine...

Picture #4 looks like what I usually get when attempting to get a shot of my son with our 3 dogs. Lots of dog butt photos.

Actually, I get more girl butt than dog butt. The dog is easy to bribe...the girls are talking Ipods....

I am not gonna touch that line. Especially with children present...

Except to say that, over the course of my adult life, I've found this to be true for me as well...

You know, as soon as I hit submit, I thought you'd have some smart comment on that one...
