HFStival
That's right it was time for the HFStival here this weekend. The local alternative radio station WHFS throws their annual "HFStival" every summer at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. Some friends and I went, here's some pics from the Coolpix:
1.) A view from a my truck on the way in to town.
2.) The Bacardi Girl (girls in trampolines! Woo!)
3.) Our group; Andrea on the cell, Caron and Paul in the background.
4.) Some kids got in, some wanted to get in.

Oh, yeah.
There was music there, too :)
1.) The view from our seats.
2.) The Living End, a "punkabilly" band I was turned onto in college.
3.) Lit
4.) A strange bird. Paul - any guesses?

strange bird
painted bumming... er ahh painted BUNTING? the tree is a sycamore, so I doubt it's a bunting ;)

I got 99 problems...
but 50 cent ain't one.
Jay-Z, Cyprus Hill, The Cure, Offspring, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Violent Femmes, and some pop stuff... nothing crunchy or hard :(
I guess that's what the Warped Tour and Ozzfest are for :)
Thanks for commenting.

Hey, that's my kind of stuff! I'm just a hard rockin' girl in a 30 something mommy's body! :D
-
Pantera's break up and Layne Staley's herion OD have scarred me for life :(
ozzfest has BLACK SABBATH playing with OZZY due to Zack Wilde's new band's future album release :)
-
ooh, don't remind me...
<b>'Pantera's break up "</b>
- shutters -
I miss them so.
-
Freudian slip? You mean "shudders"? ;)
-
You got me.
A shutter goes on a house, yes? I meant "shudders."
or did I...
So what do you listen to Kristen? (when you're not being a mommy, that is)
-
Well, I'm a hard rockin' mom- for real! I think I was born that way... ;) I like the original hard rock like Metallica and Ozzy, and some of the newer rock like Nickelback and the Offspring. That's just a sampling... I like other music too, I'm just partial to head banging. :D hehehe
Oh yeah, you'd better not tell anyone at my kids' school, either! ;) They all THINK I'm normal.... bwahahaha
-
That's cool
My mom raised me on Motown records that she blasted while getting ready to teach dance classes in the evening when I was growing up. I honed my taste for loud music back then :)
I think between you and Paul and I we could get together an Ozzfest Gathering. :p
I haven't met that many moms that like Ozzy, so you're at the top of my list. I like the new Nickleback, too. Especially the one about "I like your pants around your knees." Oh, and your secret's safe with me (and the other 100 people who opened this thread :D )

my father has played the bass since before that unlucky night i was conceived :)
One day in '88 he heard me listening to Cliff's bass solo, the next day.... that SOB played the first 2 minutes for me....NO JOKE!
I was raised on band practice.... ac/dc, pink floyd, beatles, talking heads.... what ever
I grew up on ..SLAYER, PANTERA, METALLICA, MOTORHEAD, FLOYD, CHAINS, VENOM, C O C, MERCIFUL FATE, AC/DC , ... and heavy stuff too ;)
but i listen to country( broke the head of elvis, filled fred to his pelvis...) and rap too at times( find me in the club, bottle fulla bubbly)......
I named my neopolitan mastiff I had until 5 years ago... "Pantera vulgar display of power" on his papers....AND HE WAS TOO ;)

You guys are too funny! Yep, I'd love to go to Ozzfest! It comes here every year, but every year I just never seem to make it. I've been to 3 AC/DC concerts too. :D The funniest part of loving my music is that my kids love it too... my very sweet and innocent littlest girl was singing "we will we will rock you" at age three, and my 10 year old makes me keep the station on alternative rock whenever we're in the car.
So, to make this photography related, let's say that we all go the next Ozzfest and take lots of pictures! :D
