HELP! EMERGENCY cleanup question!!!
I'm posting here because I need help NOW and I think this is the busiest forum of them all at this time of night, with the most chance of someone reading this.
How do you clean up a LOT of wet paint?
Combine a leaky 5-gallon pail of enamel paint (left by the construction guys) with a drainage hose that got pulled out of its connection unbeknownst by me ... and now I have wet paint all over the basement floor. It looks like a big sudsy puddle, but it's paint.
Fortunately the drainage hose was relatively "drippy" rather than gushy, so the spill is contained to an area of approximately 5 feet by 4 feet or so.
And it's on concrete, not the new carpet, thanfully! OR up next to the new wall.
I have no idea what to use to clean it up.
Re: HELP! EMERGENCY cleanup question!!!
GRAB THE MOP QUICK!
Paint can be removed from concrete once it dries with paint remover too.
I would grab an old sheet, towels ... even a old useless blanket and start gettng it up.
Re: HELP! EMERGENCY cleanup question!!!
Thanks! I called my friend (and thankfully she was still up, reading Harry Potter in bed :) ) and she suggested newspaper. I have a bunch of newspaper and a big garbage bag. And the garbage goes out tomorrow. Thank goodness.
Re: HELP! EMERGENCY cleanup question!!!
FYI, newspaper was not the best idea. It got too wet and then stuck to the paint.
Oh well. It looks like the paint must have leaked FIRST, before the water did, because the paint is mostly dry and stuck on the floor except where it was very very wet.
So I guess I'll have to get to it later (once it's dry) with paint remover and a blade. Right now it's just too gloopy and isn't coming up well.
Thanks anyway.
Re: HELP! EMERGENCY cleanup question!!!
Kelly, leave it dry up completely then use a scrapper to scap the pain when it is dry it should come off easily. Really isn't this a problem for the construction guys to fix up for you.
