Hello

My name is Kat and I would like to say hi. Quick info about me, mom of three during the day, psychology\pre-med student at night, server engineer on weekends, photographer for my sanity. I am a very artistic person who went from writing to drawing to my new love photography for my outlet. I photograph mostly my children because as you can guess I don't get out much. I recently started to photograph my extensive toy collection which is just so amazing to me. I used to be a NYC fashion model so I got used to photo composition from that and learned a lot from those photographers who became good friends. I only picked up my own camera about 2 years ago. Started with a Finepix S9000 and just got myself a D300 for mother's day (in April :) ) My new camera has made photography my mistress and I am so in love I can't stand it. Below are a few of my favorite photos all taken with my new 50mm f/1.4 which is my precious, most unedited except for the B&W, a bit of cropping and the framing.

I hope to get to know you all in my "spare" time. I am glad to have a place to talk shop, cause I like to talk a lot and don't get out much :) I read the welcome thread and it said bio in the people thread.. but it said I could post a hello thread and uh, where is the people thread (honestly I only looked for a minute or two :( )

Oh and comments on photos ALWAYS welcome, it is through online help that I have been able to grow

LOL, thanks everyone. I get the weirdo comment a lot when it comes to my toys, but I am a comic book toy geek, what can I say. I am excited about this place, I have been lurking around and the information available is about to make my head explode!

Welcome, Kat! It's always good to have a new woman on the site. I'm glad you took the time to introduce yourself and post some photos. Nothing like jumping right in!
