has anyone shot the Wave?

I travelled to Coyotte Butts and did The Wave hike last weekend, and found what I *believe* was The Wave (a sandstone formation that looked like a wave).

However, my GPS only showed a one-way hiking distance of less than 2 miles. A brochure I picked up in Page AZ the next day had a writeup on it and said it was a 6-7 mile round trip hike (???). Now I'm wondering if I went to the right place...

I hiked southward to the end of what appeared to be a wash (maybe even a very crude road) with the sandstone formations on the east side. Footprints ended there.

(Btw - the BLM refuses to place any markers in that area, so to preserve its naturalism.)
