    Got my first gig today
They magazine that published my skateboarding photos asked me if I could take pics of the St Patrick's parade. Kansas city is know to have the biggest in the U.S.
Plus here in North Kansas City( a smaller version) is having one also on Sunday and the big one on Monday.
So I guess I need to buy another 4gig card unless I just shoot in JPEG in stead of raw.
Raw only gets me about 380 were as JPEG is like 8500.

    what would you guys do?
I have the vertical grip with extra battery maybe I need to buy two ?

I am so stoked about this Or giddy like a school girl:thumbsup:

It's hard to go wrong with extra cards and batteries. I use 2 gig ultra II''s with my D200, that way if there is a card failure, I have the work spread across the others. I just have three batteries for the camera and that has served me well during event work.

    Congrats on the job.

right now my card is a scandisk extreme III 4 gig best buy had a great sale, only 75 for it, should have bouht two of them. I was thinking about taking along the special AA adapter kit.

Would it be better to shoot in raw or just jpeg to get more room on my card?

I guess it depends on how much post work you want to do on the images. I shoot in raw almost all the time. The exception would be for events or jobs that have a lot of shots and have to be turned around quickly

I would buy lots of smaller cards.
Means you can't lose all your photos in one go.

Whatever is the best price per gigabyte.
    At the moment I think it's 2GB.

Which is enough for a normal session for me.
I will get through 10-15 cards on a race day, if I move around the track I usually shoot a card full and move on. So I have a good idea what's on each card.
