GorillaPods anyone?
I just recently go the slr model and the ball head to go with it, as well as little clip to mount a speed light. I was a little skeptical about these, but have been pretty impressed to find that I can use it mount my camera or flash to a wood pole that's maybe the size of a silver dollar. What I found to be an even cooler use is pulling the legs back in a j shape to use it as something of a steady cam by bracing the camera on my chest. I definitely see a future of usefulness for this thing. Pics to come.

Re: GorillaPods anyone?
I have a focus and an SLR. I love em. Some of my favorite landscapes have been shot using one. I use them for flashes as well. You just need to be creative using them. They suck trying to imitate a tripod. It is more like an octopus. Or a tripus. I find a tree or pole to wrap it on or use it octopus style on a rock. The focus can support my D3s with a 70-200 2.8 mounted. It is impressive. I use my gitzo ball head with it, but I want to get the joby ball head. It is $60 Arca Swiss and pretty nice for the $$.
The people that have problems with them are the ones that are not creative enough to use them the way they are meant to be used. Wrap those things or lay em out!!

I have two, the SLR and a little P&S one. I love them, but over time the plastic joints got a little loose on the SLR. When they are tight though, they are fantastic. I am seriously considering getting a focus simply because I think it will stay usable longer.

I kind of want to use mine more and more just to see how long it takes to wear out...after which I buck up for the big one.

Mine have stayed tight on the Focus. I have had it a few years. I haven't used it tons. But I do use it. I think it is a killer product!

I had the very first, tiny point-and-shoot model. I loved the design but was not impressed with the performance. However, people seem to love the SLR model and I think I need to get one to carry in my mountain bike and ski packs.
Looking forward to your reviews! :)
