Not as bad as Virginia (did you see that on TV-$6 a gallon!!!)
It's between $3.37 and $3.55 depending on which brand you like up here in the Northern California foothills.

    The last 2 stations I passes were 3.25/3.45/3.65 and 3.45/3.65/ 3.75

I get 93 octane since my truck now has 149k on it and I want another 100k without knocks and pings ;)

Were I get gas SHOULD be about 3.50 high grade though.

My brother heard on the news about the price +40 cent changes at midnight and went back to work at 10:30PM and proceeded to get 300+ gallons of deisel and 130 gallons of gas in the work trucks :) It took him and the boss until midnight to drive all the equiptment over too. Mind you a big truck holds 90 gallons of deisel , so the overtime they paid him was better than the extra $100+ in fuel costs in the near future.

Well ours is only $1:27 but it's per Litre so when you convert you're looking at $1:27 x 4 lt to make 1 gallon. Then convert the $ to US from AU. I'm guessing around...oh umm....$4+ p/gal!!!

    Re: Gas Pains!!!!
You have to convert it to x4.5 not 4 to get to gallons. It is currently around $4.40US a gallon equivalent here in Sydney.

We are dropping in Georgia!! Our Gov. suspended some tax thingy, and it is at 2.70/2.80/2.90, and dropping.

It's $3.29 here, it was $3.18 yesterday and $3.11 on Thursday. Cute, huh?
The nice thing is that 20 miles away in Oregon you can save a quarter a gallon, which adds up to savings when you fill up the tank and then do your shopping without sales tax...

    Pete,

    A gallon of water/milk here states it is 3.78 liters(litres) :)

Either way .... a few GREEDY SOB's with enough money to buy ANYTHING are making more than their share by charging more for a product that cost no more to produce than it did 10 years ago!

BUT WAIT!!!!!! If we drill in ANWAR for oil that needs 4x the refining of gulf oil .... prices will then again INCREASE , while we DEVISTATE the largest pristine area ON EARTH!!!

Maybe GW's war on oil(terror) can solve this ;)

    Converting at $1 = £0.54
We are paying £0.96 per litre at 4.54l per gallon.

    That's $8.07 per gallon.

    Stop complaining guys :)

    Re: Gas Pains!!!!
You are paying around $10.28 per gallon Australian equivalent, that is terrible SmartWombat (Paul). I didn't realise it was quite that high. Current converison rate $1Aus eq £0.42 so you do the equation as see if I am correct. I used the £0.96 per litre you quoted.

    Re: Gas Pains!!!!
Do you use the imperial gallon or the US gallon ?
It's 1.2 UK:US so that makes it only $6.75 US
Still plenty, even at 60mpg (OK 30mpg on the racetrack)

Paul I would think that England and Australia use the same as each other when it comes to Gallons, but the USA probably uses something else (just to be different as usual), like colour and color for example. Still pretty high though for UK.

I'm taking donations so I can fill my truck up and get to work  It depends on what day the money arrives as to how much it will cost  Lets see, it should be something like this:

    Monday $2.99 gal
    Tuesday $3.19 gal
    Wednesday $3.49 gal
    Thurdsay $3.49 gal
    Friday before 8pm $3.49 after 8pm $3.19gal

Ok, now for the fun part. It takes 35 gallons to fill the truck and it gets around 10mpg. I average around 2000 miles a month.......October, December, March and May are busiest months and in May I average 3500 miles. At worst it costs $122 to fill my tank at $3.49 gallon......Any takers? :)

WHAT kind of truck do you own ??

my SUBURBAN with a carberated 454 got 13 MPG CITY way back in the early 90's and it was a tire burner :)

My god, my NEIGHBORS 64 vette with a 528 ci street engine got 10 MPG average and it was pushing 970HP !!

A LTL9000(500HP turbo deisel) loaded to 80k GVW got better than your ride.

My suggestion is a used 4CYL car for the times you don't need to haul a camper or ride through rivers ;)

a 97 Dodge 2500 4x4 w/ 4.11 gears and a lil ole 360 under the hood. I'm not joking when I say it gets 10mpg.....think of what I get when I hook up my 13,000lb 5th wheel trailer too! The truck weighs in at a paltry 6200lbs EMPTY! Now see why it gets 10mpg on a good day?

I do have a 90 Plymouth Voyager....but it keeps dying and no one can figure it out.....gremlins is all I can figure.

I'm glad I don't own my old 78 Chevy Blazer anymore. It got 5mpg on a good day. Home built 350 pushing 600hp w/dual Holley 4bbl's and 44" Super Swamper tires. My knees got so bad I couldn't climb in the thing.....:(

I tore up a few NJ roads with it.....I lived in PA at that time though. :D

Man, I have some really bad gas pains right now, but they'll be gone in a half hour or so.

Turkey, it always does it to me, but I eat it anyway.

    Re: Update
$3.18 for the cheap stuff here. It's not as bad as it could be, or will be in the future. Sure makes me want to get a Prius tho. :) I drive a 1991 Ford F150, with 300ci inline 6, with 5 speed and 180,000 miles on it. I use to get about 12mpg out of my truck, but by changing my driving habbits, I now get about 16. Still not all that great, but a nice change from the 12mpg I use to get. Amazing what driving like an adult can do. ;) The tires I have on it are a little bit bigger than stock, so if I go back to the stock size, I might be able to get a little better than 16.

I was thinking about getting a new truck within the next year or so, but the way things are going, I think I will go for something small and fuel efficient, and keep my pickup for when I need to haul or pull something.

    BEEN THERE....... :D

I have owned a few gas hogs in my youth..

67 chevelle w/ LS 7(1000CFM )HP unknown, but I would say high 600's atleast :)
    69 camaro with a 550HP 350 and 411's
My tahoe, 64ford PU , suburban, lightning, 454SS PU, 71 cuda 440 6pack(sold the 6 pak and put dual quads instead ), 68 roadrunner 383 and my favorite truck was a F550 superduty deisel that would move a mountain, but couldn't break 80MPH with those insane gears in the rear that were like 498 or something like that(2ND to 5TH and shifting was done)?

I now own a ford ranger 4L with 32's that gets 18MPG average so my latest fill up calculation told me(tune up time). No more dragging a stump grinder, chipper or trailer (besides my 17ft boat), so no need for a full sized truck.

We own a ford escort too and I am thinking of getting another used 4cl to save $$ in the long run.

I used to make DAY trips to MARYLAND and the ADIRONDACKS to shoot, but now don't want to leave my county to do so ;)
