    G20 summit

So after long debate about weather i should or should not go downtown Pittsburgh, u woke up and my dad had to drive in for work so i hitched a ride and took photos of the G20 summit protesters, and protectors. I was there pretty early in the day (10:30-2:30) and missed (because of time and location) the more rowdy protests. but here are a few of the better shots i got today. (almost all shot with 70-200).

all kinds of principles were in attendance

    protesting is hard work

shouldn't he know how to get on a horse?

unfortunately i probably won't make it back down tomorrow as im heading out of town for the weekend.

thanks for looking, and any critiques or comments are gratefully accepted (this isn't my normal kind of photography).

I think you did a good job capturing the different personalities at the event.

The cop using the fire hydrant as a stepping stool gave me a good laugh.

You did a great job. I like #2 for the alignment of the monks against the police in the background.

But my favorite is the hydrant/police/horse shot! The action, the sign, the policeman in the background, and the horse's demeanor all come together nicely. Send it in to National Geographic - Your Shot.

thanks guys, the mounting the horse photo has given every one a good chuckle so far..... (loupey ) i may just send it to NG, i made an account and was wondering what photo to submit first (i have about 5 in the process, ill have to make sure i picked the best one).

Thanks loupey, i took several of the monks in front of the police with either or in focus and at various angles... i like that one the best (although 2 or 3 go together really well).

The picture of monks is amazing, nice job. Very interesting to see horses with face shields.

I agree, you have many good shots here, but the shot with the bridge cordoned off with the Hummer makes the strongest statement for me. I was also surprised to see the horses in full riot gear.

that ons is my favorite, the city backdrop ( the tall mellon building is the one my father works in- and was in at the time) along with the diserted road/bridge... very apocalyptic feeling. i think it needs straightened though.
