Im thinking of getting one, but have heard bad things regarding the battery life, anyone have any experience regarding this?

I don't have the S7000z, but I do have the S602Z a 3MP brother. I have had it since May of 2003 and have taken tons of images with it with very pleasing results. As to battery life I have been very pleased. It is not as good as the D70 that I shot mostly with now but for AA rechargables I think it does a very good job, much better than some others. I always carry a set of recently recharged as spares but I would do that with any camera. I used a 256 card with it and never had a problem filling it on a newly charged set of batterys. I have been very pleased with the optics on the Fuji and it was easy to learn to use and handled much like a 35mm, one of the main reasons I bought it. It is also a camera that I can put on program and hand my wife or one of the kids and know that they will come home with good images. My biggest nit pic with the camera is the shutter lag. Of course this is not unique to this camera but does not make it ideal for sports or faster action. All in all if the S7000z is anything like the S602Z than it is a good piece of equipment for the money. Hope this is of some help. Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.
