    Talking First walk-a-bout

I took the new Canon rebel T2i for a walk on the shore of lake Winnebago. Here's a few shots, just getting to know the camera. Kit lens EFS 18-55.

I have a lot to learn about photography as an art. But that's why I came here.

Your second composition is quite good because the main subject is off center.

Its a journey and doing a walk about and just shooting is a good way to learn.
You'll see what you're getting and know what you want to get those dramatic shots.
Keep up the journey and show us more.

Thanks frog, Dad always taught me to center the subject. But I see that it being off-center is appealing. here's a few more from today.

On the last one, that power line should be cropped out, and I should have picked up that bottle.

Which is better, the close up or the wide angle of the lighthouse? I can't decide!

What editing program are you using.
You don't have to crop them out when you can clone them out.

The wide angle is better BUT the close up would be IF the top of the light house wasn't cut off and the tip of land on the right wasn't chopped just before going to water.
Getting composition right is easier said than done but you learn to look for these things.
You may want to drop some into the critique forum and you'll get very sound advice from the experts.
    Keep Shooting!
