    First PSA event, help please??

I will be entering my first judged event in a couple weeks. Some of you have seen all/most of these photos. If you could please visit the link below and cast a vote either on the site, or let me know your choices here, it would be greatly appreciated. The comp will be interclub, and open to all skill levels. The max is three entries. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Great shots and good luck!

I'll be different too. It might be a good idea to do a series of similar subjects, but these were my favorites:

6 Because of the shape of the flower and the background which is not black, but it takes a little looking at it to see that.

13 Really liked 12 which was more unique, but if there was one other dancer in there... Or maybe a tighter crop (vertical?).

    18 Well done architectural shot.

6..I like how the flower and background work together

9..I really like this shot, but I'm having a hard time putting my finger on why

12..I like the lines of the dances and how they pop off the background

    Good Luck!

Thanks for all the feedback and the well-wishing. It looks pretty mixed, which can be good. So perhaps I have enough material to fill a full season, and work on stuff for next season, or better stuff for later this one.

I really appreciate all of your thoughts.

4, 10, 11. To me those are the most unusual and compelling and they go nicely together. What about that Children's Hospital one?

I meant to include it, odd I didn't as it is a favorite, and always got really varied thoughts. It will probably go either in the second or third cycle. Yes, two of those photos are "unusual" and tend to show more of my "style" as it currently stands. However, do you think it is a good idea to submit all b&w that are somewhat along the same lines? You may be right though, the group I will be in competition with consits of photogs that really work in portrait/macro/wildlife work. The advantage being a "breath of fresh air" effect.

This is becoming an interesting thread in that it reveals the variety of tastes that can be found even in a small group.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and remind me of that photo, and thanks to all for making this a good lesson beyond the typical technical lessons.
