    First Holga photos

So I think I did pretty well, as in I have an image on each print. I was a little concerned about getting anything at all, but I think I have a good starting off point. Going to take some time to get used to, the viewfinder messed me up. So used to the slr's. And it certainly doesn't shoot at f/2, which I'll have to remember. And not as contrasty as I usually prefer, but I think that's a film/developing issue.

Lots different from the 20d, that's for sure.

Nothing special, just playing around outside. The scan isn't exactly what the prints look like, but our flatbed is as old as my daughter, so it needs replacing.

Those bar looking things? That's my scanner. And that second one really isn't blown out.

    Right On!!

Tell us about what you did with the camera Adina.
    What yoru thought process was.
I think the one of the swing set is the better of the two photographs. I would love to see it in color.
    Keep it up!
    You too Nat!

    Congratulations!

    Welcome to the club!

The rangefinder IS a biit off. I find that when the framing is more crucial than usual, tightening it up a bit more than I want it usually results in the image being closer to what I saw in the viewfinder. It's a different way of working - much more faith, crossed fingers, and patience than technical expertise are needed to be a successful Holga shooter.

    Keep it up!

Something new to play with - yeah! I'd be interested to see what you think shooting with the Holga does for your SLR shots. Have fun and keep us posted...

    Re: First Holga photos

    Thanks all.

Thought process? I was supposed to have one? I got home one afternoon, and everyone was outside playing. So I got the camera and shot a roll. Mostly I just wanted something to start from. Kinda like "next time I'll...."

    That works!
If you continue with it, and I hope you do, I am sure you will develope more of thought process or thinking for your Holga stuff.

    Adina,
Those shots are very cool! Nice and moody. The swingset one brings me back to a shot my "early mentor" did. I think the shadow of the tree on the second is fabulous!

Where did you get your Holga from? Which one? I see on B&H there are a few different ones. I am trying to get one for my hubby- he's got a natural eye for photography and I want him to start doing this too!

I would recommend these two places.
    http://www.holgamods.com
    or
    http://www.freestylephoto.biz/
Outside of getting it from holgamods, I'd recommend the CFN.
Stay away from the WOCA, it's just not the same, they have a glass lens instead of the plastic one.
