    A few from today
Took a drive to the East Fork San Gabriel today and grabbed a few shots. Looks like this year is gonna be a great wildflower year.

#1 Patterns of a young Yucca Plant.
#2 Baby Blue Eyes in bloom.
#3 I think this is a type of Paintbrush
#4 This coyote wasn't the least intimidated by my getting so close and taking his picture.

Here's a couple more. This is the San Gabriel River spillway, shot later on in the day.

    Thank you, Trevor & JK_Photo!

I've felt like I've been in a photographic rut for the past two months, so this was kind of like medicine for me today.

Here's another shot of the same Yucca plant. I got poked by a couple of them today, one on the leg the other on the hand. Ouch!

    Dear Ray,

Nature makes such a wonderful subject. Flowers are always so beautiful. You seem to have captured them at their best. The damn pictures are impressive. Wonderful stuff. Glad you're out of your rut too.

Thank you, Janie. But it's not a wolf...it's a coyote! LOL

If it was a wolf, I would have used my 70-300 and shot from a long ways off! :)

Thank you, Drew, but I think you meant to write dam pictures. LOL

And yes, nature is so incredible. I just marvel at all things God has created for us to look at and stand in wonder. I am really looking forward to this spring, as the Tehachapi hills will be covered with wildflowers of all varieties and colors and I'm gonna give my Drebel a workout. :)

Ooooops!! I guess I wasn't paying attention when I spelled that one out. I never was one for spelling.

Ahhhh! you make me wish I was back in the Bay Area, especially in Wildcat Canyon. Or Sibley Volcanic Park. Or on Angel Island. Too bad I am stuck out here in Colorado where snow is common up till April!! Sigh. Not much to photograph in the way of nature at this time of year in Colorado, it is almost like a wasteland. But it just makes spring all the more spectacular I suppose. I guess that is God's version of Prozac. Just at the point where you think you can't stand it anymore, Spring comes along. As always, His timing is perfect. :D Good luck this spring.

Drew, here's a zoomed out view of the dam. Thought you'd like to see it.

So you're from the Bay Area? Me too! Originally, that is. I was born in Frisco, moved to Hayward when I was five. Later, we moved to Pleasanton. I know that's outside the Bay Area, but it's just a hop, skip and a jump over the hills. Did you know BART now commutes into the Tri-Valley?

Love this spillway shot! Just fills up the frame the way its supposed to. The water erupting is okay in the second but that first one real got my attention.

    Niiiiiiiice!
That yucca plant is not yucky. It's beautiful. The depth-of-field is perfect and I love the color.

So you think it's going to be a good desert flower year? A couple of years ago I was on my way to Big Bear in may and there were all these mini white flowers along the highways, around Lancaster. It was incredible. I'd never seen anything like it. If the flowers are good, I'd love to make a trip to the Mojave.

I like that Canon graphic, too. Are you encouraging other people to use it? Wanna stir things up and make it a little more competitive? ;)

It's going to be an AWESOME wildflower year, John. Penny, Gene and I are hoping to make a trip out to Tehachapi when the big rolling hills begin to be covered in flowers. I'd more than welcome your presence if you wish to come. The Mojave, too, is going to be carpeted all green with all sorts of wildflowers. I can't wait!

Sure, anyone can use it. Copy and paste into your sig if you like. It was just something I made up real quick just to poke a little fun in the thread. I should actually put some effort into it and make it something permanent that anyone can use.

Oh, and thanks for your comments on the photos! :)

    Wow!
This one is awesome - I love the composition, color and how pure the blades look.

I also like the first pics - especially the first one - and the Coyote....

Question - how did you get that wonderful logo? Should we all have one?

Thanks Liz! Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Like I told John (well, I kinda left a few things out), just copy the logo, save it to your desktop or hard drive, upload the image to your photo storage server (like photobucket.com) and then copy the img url into your sig if you want, at least until I take the time to make a nicer one.

I did post one (the second yucca pic) but not as its own thread. Didn't think really about posting them there but maybe I should.

    Thanks for the comments!
