    A few from the reception...

Well, the wedding went as planned and then came the reception. I was doing so many things that evening (besides having to officiate the wedding) that I wasn't really focused on taking pictures. Not the greatest background but here's a few anyhow.

#1 The bride and groom about to take their first dance.

#2 The best man and his daughter (looks nice in color too, but I wanted to try b/w).

    #3 The boquet toss.

I really like the effect of the bouquet toss, and the color and sharpness of the bouquet.

At first glance it almost looks like the bride is sitting cross--legged, until you follow the "dress" upward and find a face. Cool effect!

How did you achieve that shot?

Nice shots Schrackman. The first could have been improved using a different background, but that's just personal. The second one is a very spontanious shot, I like it. The last one is very creative.

I know, sometimes rotating the camera can improve composition or framing, but my personal opinion is that you do it too much, it starts to look amateurish. That conflicts with the pictures in general which do have a professional look.

    Thanks for sharing ;)

    Thanks everyone!

kellybean, that last picture just utilized a bit slower shutter speed is all. And Nat, there are more but these are all that I've had time to process.

Yes, I know the background on these are not that great (which is why I stated so to begin with), but I didn't get any other chance to photograph them under better conditions. Their first dance, then toasting, then mingling with the guests, not to mention the things I was having to do myself, pretty much left me with what you see.

I'll try to process some more tonight if I can.

Nice shots, Ray. You officiated too? Must have been a busy day! Liked the boquet toss, I actually had in mind trying that at a wedding coming up I'm shooting with another photographer. Great minds think alike!?

Thanks Steve! And yes it was a very busy TWO days in triple digit temps. On top of that, I had to drive my daughters back home the next day and drive right back (6hrs each way!!) I was so tuckered out I was actually glad it was over and vowed to my wife we'd never host a reception again, LOL.

I really did try to get a unique shot of the boquet throw, so I'm happy with how that one came out. In this shot the bride was actually teasing the ladies with the boquet. In other words, she really didn't throw it this time, which was good because it kept the boquet from becoming blurred in mid air. You might want to suggest that to the bride when you go to shoot the wedding to see if you can get a similar effect.

On a funny note, the groom was so anxious during the ceremony that during my stating what his vows were to the bride, he exclaimed "I do" before I could even get through them, hehe.
