    A Few Band Photo's
My youngest brother is in a band (along with his fiance') and I've been to hear them play a couple of times. Of course, I took my camera with me and took some shots.

First two shots are of the guys. They all play guitar and sing.

The third shot is of my brother and his fiance'. I will be shooting their wedding in October. He's the reason I got the Stroboframe, SC-28, and the MB-16. Thanks brother!

The last shot is from my last shoot of the band. It is a closeup of my brother. If you look closely, you can see where it was starting to rain. They quit shortly after this was taken. I like this shot - my mother loves it.

It was definitely something different to try. It's a challenge to get shots without a microphone in front of someone's face. The band members loved the shots, and they also made the decision to lower their mikes as a result of these. I didn't know I was that influencial! ;-)

Good shots ... what type of music do they play? They don't appear to be headbangers, rappers, or reggae performers. :-) Looks like you had some background challenges, with lots of distracting elements. The shots improved as it got darker and you got closer, I think. Good stuff.

They play oldies (80's - classic rock) type music. Dave Matthews, some Jimmy Buffet, a few others, and some of their own material.

The place they were playing at is a Tiki Bar, at a restaurant, beside a marina. I started with my 28-70mm, then switched to my 70-300mm for the tighter shots.

They are currently taking a couple of months off to work on a CD, so I won't get the chance to shoot them again for a while. When they get back to performing again, I'll be out there with my camera.

    Thanks for the comments Charles!
