It would sure be nice if everyone would post their photos at no longer than 750 pixels horizontally. Anything larger than that, unless a person has a wide screen monitor, has to be scrolled sideays to see the whole photo. This can get very annoying and sometimes, out of frustration, I just don't bother to really look at the picture. I'm sure there are others on here that feel the same way. Right? Your cooperation is appreciated.

Re: Favor requested!
Actually the guidelines say a maximum of 640 pixels.

Re: Favor requested!
640 is the maximum upload size, but an image of any size can be linked from another site (flikr, photobucket, etc).
I'm with you guys - 750 max or really even 640 although that shows up very small on my laptop. Displaying a small (<750px) image with a link to a larger version if needed is a great way to do it.

Re: Favor requested!
But that doesn't work with panoramas :wink5:

Re: Favor requested!
That's what the gallery is for !
Bigger pictures in the gallery, smaller pictures in the forums.

Re: Favor requested!
And when the picture runs off the monitor, 1024 X 768, it takes the text with it. Another thread ignored. I'm just way too lazy to do all that scrolling. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

Re: Favor requested!
Yep, I always post the 500px code from flickr and then ya'll can click the image to go to the page, and then the full size is filed under "all sizes"
If it's something like a pano, I provide a link to the full size as well as a link to the immersive.

Re: Favor requested!
I'm glad so many of you feel the same way.

Re: Favor requested!
another hint is even w/o a widescreen monitor is just up your desktop resolution mine is way up 1920 by 1080 so all your pictures are very tiny.
i usually up load mine to pbucket, and they have an option that shrinks them to certain sizes, i think its set to 640 on the largest size for mine, makes me not have to worry about doing it myself.

Re: Favor requested!
Hmmmmm, I just go with medium size on smugmug. I need to check and see how wide they are.
