Fall Color
I got back from my long trip on Friday and missed Rick's fall 24 hour thread. Too bad because I would have liked to participate. But I've been taking a lot of pictures over the past two weeks and have a wide variety of good stuff, including some really nice fall color photos from Mill Creek Canon in Salt Lake City. I also just downloaded the most recent beta of Adobe Lightroom and used it on three of these images. I think the software is much improved over the last version, although I still find the workflow a little awkward compared to what I'm used to.
Look for lost more photos over the next few days. All of these were taken with my new Rebel XTi. So far the camera has been performing much better than I hoped or expected.
If you want to see what I've been working on for the past two weeks, check out Mtbr.com's Interbike tradeshow coverage and my Mtbr gallery.

Re: Fall Color
Hey there John......... Welcome Back
The color on your images is awesome! I'm glad you're happy with the XTi - so am I. It's the best camera I've ever used. I just love it.
I like the 2 red leaves (nothing too red in NJ yet). My favorite is No. 3.......awesome.

Re: Fall Color
The first one is the kind of photo I appreciate most and am always seeking without much luck.

Love that second, John! The moon shot is pretty cool too. Sure wish we had some trees like that around here.

More Love!
First of all, here's a link to some photos I posted from my return trip through Northern Nevada:
I Love Nevada!
Now, for some more photos. This was a long trip that covered a lot of ground. It started with a latenight jaunt through the upper part of Yosemite and some morning exploring near Tioga Pass. From there I traveled to Las Vegas for the annual Interbike tradeshow. I spent about five days in and around Las Vegas. Then I went to Utah to visit some friends and do some riding near Zion. These photos are from the Guacamole Trail, outside Virgin, Utah.

Brian Head, Utah
The day after I rode the Guacamole Trail, we headed up past Cedar City to catch the last day of the bike season at the Brian Head ski resort. Brian Head is really beautiful. It's a mix of big mountains and Bryce Canyon-like rock formations. Bark beetles have done a lot of damage to the evergreens, but it's still beautiful. The top of the mountain is 11,000 feet so riding is a little punishing if you live at sea level, like I do. But it's worth it for the riding and the photos.
