Congratulations! The XT is a wonderful camera - you will have fun, learn a lot.....and be amazed at the quality of the pics. However, just a warning - there is a learning curve with your first DSLR.

First charge - probably 3-4 hours.

Enjoy - and post some pics!

Nothing like that first DSLR. Even if it is a Canon. ;-) Now get busy and post up a few pictures for us.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I think there is a direct relationship with the charging time and how long you watch the little light blink.
    Congrats and happy shooting.

Congrats! Just like I was on Xmas morning...How long does the damn battery take to charge

I recall it was a lot faster than I expected as it was fully charged before I finished cooking and eating breakfast.

    Enjoy!
    Cheers,

Looks pretty good for straight out of the camera. The main issue I see is that the white balance looks pretty blue / cyan. So it could stand to have a little color correction. If you really want serious feedback on your photos you should post them on the Photo Critique forum. That's what it's for.

    Watch the background.
That thing behind her (is it a TV on the wall?) is distracting.

    Nice cat
