    Dandelion Sunset

Same road trip as the horse image. Postioned the dandelion between me and the setting sun. Hope you like the effect.

    Re: Dandelion Sunset

OT - I really like this. Did you lie down to do this? Or was this a 6 foot tall dandelion?
At any rate, very creative - and something useful that gives the dandelion a little more class. ;)

    Re: Dandelion Sunset

Thanks guys I'm glad you liked this shot. I've always been fanscinated with these little fuzz balls. Use to play with them for hours as a kid, blowing on them and sending those little seed all over the world. Liz I wish that I could say that I was flat on my back when I took this and a few years ago I would have been, didn't think you should move anything or disturb it in any way when you were photographing it. I did something very similar to this 30 years ago that I still get complements on when I get out the old slide projector. In that one I did just what you imagined to get the shot. This time however I cheated. I picked it and held it at arms length with the setting sun directly behind it and shot away. I even discarded it like an old toy when I was done. But it did give me a lot of pleasure for a few minutes. Hope it does you guys too.

I went back and had to look 3 times - I love this pic!

And I'm glad I'm not the only ones who loves these fuzzy flowers. The little kids in the neighborhood call them wish flowers.

I've really enjoyed having the macro lens. For years I reversed lens, used extension tubes and added closeup filters to get this type shot. The 105mm Macro makes it much easier and no manuel calculations with the D70. I truely like getting close to the subject.
