    Dam squirrels
Yes, ground squirrels at the Hoover dam :)

Pretty sure they're Harris' Antelope Squirrel, Ammospermophilus harrisii

Yah that's a pretty major crop.
How'd you manage to take pics while so ill or was this before it struck?

These are the only pictures I took in 3 days.
I slept from GC to the dam and felt well enough to get out, sit in the sun, and watch these guys.
Then I went back fro the camera.
Shows I wasn't thinking because I left the car without the camera !

I paid for it that night though :(

I LOVE the one of the squirrel looking over the dam. Too bad the squirrel isn't a bit more prominent in the scene.

Those are Chipmunk's not Squirrels, same family of Rodent. The Chipmunks are much smaller than a Squirrels.

That's what I thought too, fregyr but I googled antelope squirrel and sure enough that's what they are. Do look a lot like our NW chipmunks.

    Definitely not chipmunk.
The shoulder to hip white line is a good field mark for the antelope squirrel.
Far smaller than a rock squirrel, which is what I thought they were initially.

The second squirrel is even less prominent.
