I'm sorry Mark. What happened? Was the post real long? Maybe it went over the limit of space per post?

If you are going to write up a long post, I suggest you use notepad or wordpad to save your text and avoid losing everything you typed out in the future.

    Thanks for the reply,
I dont know what happened. Most likely it was my fault. I was just venting, not blaming the site.
I did not know there was a limit on the size of the posts. I may have, but I doubt that I exceded the limits.

Maximum characters per post is something like 50,000, so unless you wrote a short novel ;) I would say it wasn't that.

It's okay to vent! I get "vented" on a lot, lol.

It's happened to me too. If I've got a long reply, I usually highlight the whole thing and copy (right click on PC). If it doesn't submit for some reason, I can go back and paste it back in. Sometimes hitting refresh helps too.

It also helps to make the post in something like Wordpad or Text Edit. That way when the interweb inevitably f-s up you have something to go back to.

My wireless connnection at home is always dropping me. Whenever I get paranoid before submitting, I copy the whole thingm just in case. Inevitably, the stupid wireless connection sneaks up and gets me anyway. All electronics are out to get me.

    Re: really ticked me off!

I would say *most* of the time, when that happens to me (as long as my browser didn't quit or the window close on me) I can hit my 'back' button one or two times and reclaim the text -- it's still sitting in the window.

At that point I will NOT simply re-post, I will highlight the whole thing and save it to a text document, then go into the original thread and click on "post reply" again and start over, only this time I just paste the text in.
