A Couple Of RF Photographs, From A Parade...

I thought I'd post these for the RF fans out there in PR.com.

These are from a Fourth of July parade, the first one was shot with some Fujichrome 100 using the 35 mm.

This one was done with good old Tri-X and the 25mm lenes.

You know, one wouldn't think that you could get that many people into one spot who knew how to play the bagpipes! I guess it's more commonplace than I had thought. Great photo, by the way.

Is that from the Bessa?

Nice shooting Brian. What kind of RF you got with a 25mm lens?

Yes, these are from the Bessa, it's the only other camera I have besides my Holgas.
I have a Voigtlander Bessa R2A, with Voigtlander 35mm Color-Skopar f/2.5 Pancake, Voigtlander 25mm Snapshot-Skopar f/4, as well as a 75/2.5 Color Heliar.

Don't be talking smack about bagpipes! Have you ever heard Amazing Grace played on the bagpipes? It's beautiful. I love bagpipes.

Brian, the one of the motorcycle cops slapping hands is great. I might crop it tighter to focus attention on the first cop. But I think that one is special.

A friend's father's funeral is on Monday. He was a Korean War vet and besides the military honors someone will play Amazing Grace on bagpipes. I don't know if I could handle being there, seriously.

I thought they walked in groups to keep their skirts from flying up. You know, like how geese fly in a v formation to get that reduction in wind resistance, heehee.

I heard a small bagpipe band play "The Star Spangled Banner" today at my work, that's right up there with "Amazing Grace"
They are strangely beautiful instrument.

Brian, that b&w shot of the motorcycle cop is excellent. Did you process that film yourself or do you send yours out?

Great shots. Of couse they all look Black and white to me.

I take all of my film to be processed at an excellent lab here in Salt Lake, Borge Andersen and Associates.

After doing some research I've decided on my next film camera: the Bessa R4A, and possibly couple it with the Nokton 40mm F1.4. The pictures are incredible. Check out this link: http://www.stpiduko.com/images/04jun2007/

This guy uses the Color Skopar 21 & 35mm lenses.

Now all I have to do is start saving up, LOL.

Why would you get an R4 when it dosen't even have lines for a 40?
The R4 has 21, 25, 28, 35 and 50mm lines.
The R3, has 40, 50, 75 and 90mm lines.
Are you getting the two confused?
They are both excellent cameras!

Nope, not getting them confused. The Nokton 40mm is a fast lens, and that's what I like about it. All I need to go with it is a 40mm viewfinder. Eventually I'll get the 35mm color skopar and maybe the 21mm color skopar too.

Hey Brian, Nice shots! I really like that B&W of the cops. Sorry I'm so slow commenting here. I just got back from my Colorado trip and I'm still recovering. Hopefully, I'll have a bunch of landscape shots from my R2A to post soon.

Go for it, Ray! :thumbsup: I've heard nothing but good things about that 40mm Nokton. But honestly, everything I've seen from the Voigtlander lenses has been top notch. I've got the 35 Pancake II and the 50 Heliar, which are both great, and the 21 is next on my list.

BTW I saw ya on the "First Name Basis" thread. I said Hi!

Oh, and guess what? My Agfa half frame pictures could be here by the end of the week, if not the beginning of next week. Not sure how they're gonna come out. I kept forgetting to set the focus distance on quite a few photos!! But I should have a few that turn out decent, that is, if the camera actually works properly. The contact sheet will tell all!

I hear you, but I think an external viewfinder on the shorter end makes more sense than one on the longer end. Which is why I choose the R2 over the R4.
I look forward to seeing your Agfa stuff!

Yeah, I think you're right. I threw a post up at RFF and one person said a similar thing. To be truthful, I have no need to go longer than a 35mm with the Bessa.

I like having something a little longer, that's why I have the 75mm.
I don't use it as much as the 25 and 35, but I do like having it.
