    Your 2006 Wishlist...

Like the subject says, this thread is for the photography related toys that you would like to buy this year.

    Here is my list:
-Another 20D body with battery grip.
    -A 300mm f/4 lens
-A decent monolight kit (adorama or alienbees)
    -One of these

And finally, what will become my dream as soon as it goes into production, the new Thinkpad T60 with the dual core Centrino processor. Imagine photoshop on that baby!!!

F80, Which I am currentky trying daily to get on eBay

D70, Long way off as I would need a new computer

Contax G2, seen them go for £200 with a 45mm lens, Yes please!

Mamiya 645, seen them going for £150 with an 80mm lens, but I think when I do get a MF camera it will have an interchangable back

My own DR wouldn't go a miss.

Mine is simple enough... Minolta Maxxum 5D, or if the budget allows, the 7D.

My #1 wish is for an inexpensive but quality tripod with a good head on it that is at list 72" without the center pole being extended, (I've been looking at a Manfrotto). After that, an extra battery and or a battery grip and all of the "accessories" for my CP8400. Finally, a good photo club in my area to bounce ideas off of!!! :-)

    Re: Your 2006 Wishlist...

The D2x (Which would then require a faster computer, new CF cards, and abunch of other goodies)

    300-800 f5.6 lens

    120-300 f2.8 Lens
    Alien Bees strobe setup
    Another D1h perhaps for sports

Most likely I'll be gettin the Alien Bees first, then the 120-300. But we'll see how things look for 2006.

    Hmmm...

What I'd like to buy - if I win the lottery - this is wishing after all: a D2X, Nikon 28-70mm f2.8, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8, a couple of SB-800's, and a computer with a warp speed processor and a butt load of memory.

    :-D

What I'm likely to buy this year:

    D200.

    Christmas is coming....

    My realistic list:

    300gb (or more) hard drive
    Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
A digiscoping setup is also something I have been thinking about recently.
And perhaps a long, fast L series lens.

I also need to find a wedding photographer that will shoot digitally, and in RAW, and let me buy all of the original files from them, so I can edit them myself.

My unrealistic list is much much longer.

    My list:
    - Yashica 124G TLR
    - iBook 14" 1.42GHz 1GB SDRAM with 80GB Drive
    - Photoshop Elements
    - CanoScan 8400F Flatbed Scanner (does 35mm & medium format)

Best thing is that all that stuff is shipping in about a week. I should probably be satisfied for a year with all that, right? ;)

    Re: Your 2006 Wishlist...

I'm with a few of you guys, my list consists mainly of longer glass for my current systems.

A 300 2.8 would be great for my Nikon, but I would easily settle for a 300 f4 to save money and weight while backpacking it. Especially now that Velvia comes in a 100 speed, I might not miss the extra stop.

A 300 5.6 for my Mamiya, which is the equivalent of about 180mm in 35mm photography I believe.

    A high-quality 2x teleconverter for both.

And like some others have said, more opportunities to use all my stuff!

    My Wishlist

First let me say, that my wish list consists of more than equipment - partly because I invested in a 24-105 IS lens and recycled other lenses this past year. I can't afford to even think about another camera/lens equipment purchase.

My "equipment" wish list includes one item this year - one of the very small external hard drives that I can take with me in my travels - I think Costco has them for $150-$200. I would use it for photos, work-related documents and backup for other things I keep on my laptop.

The most important "item" on my wish list is to schedule at least 1/2 day a week for photography. I generally have a busy schedule so I plan to set photography time as an appointment that I "have to keep."

Oh yes Rick I like your list. (300mm and 2x comverter) I would go the same route. Everything but the Meduim formate stuff. Got out of that about three years ago.

I agree that's a great list, but not realistic for me. Now the 300 f4 and the 2x converter may be in my future.

    Re: Your 2006 Wishlist...

Well, my wishlist has to be just that this year. Our trusty '97 Grand Caravan was on its last legs during our trip south at Christmas. I didn't feel safe taking it back home after Christmas, so we splurged and bought a new '06 Sienna AWD Limited with all the extras except power folding seats in the third row.
Unfortunately, this means my 5D and 300 f2.8L IS USM will have to wait till next year.
