These two kids were very aware that a "stranger" with one BIG (77mm) eye was watching them.I patiently waited for their shyness to turn to fascination. The water suddenly became all that mattered.

The dad stood on the sidelines, afterwards we talked. He was very interested in PR.Yeah! As I saw it @ 20mm.

Went out for a little Mainah "sport", tourist watching...LOL They are odd creatures :D Here's a few shots from today. The last shot was another photographer and his girlfriend searching the rocks looking for the perfect spot to shoot.

Sorry about the size, I've had this one kicking around for over a year - I've since changed the default image size that I use for web.

Another one, though she's famous and might not be a stranger.
What defines this "stranger" criterion anyhow?
If it's someone you don't know personally, or doesn't know you, this qualifies.

Well, its a sponsor logo all over the garage so I didn't have much choice :)
But yeah, if she'd completely covered the word "mobile" it would have been a different image.

My contribution are these three atop an overpass that I captured Saturday on my way home from Wisconsin. I call them the looky loos, since, unfortunately, the 2nd picture is what they were "looking" at.

Here's 2 more from this weekend...This is in OK City. We'd just stopped for gas and there were literally hundreds of motorcycles cruising the area on some kind of local ride. This couple had pulled into the 7-11 (I think) and were on their way out. I was randomly shooting everything I could get my lens on when I turned and spotted these 2. *Important* Notice position of young ladies arms in pic 1. Just after I shot this I lowered my camera as she graciously flashed me!!!!!! Whoa... :blush2:
Well, I quickly thanked her and advised her that I respected my wife and that she wouldn't appreciate me taking shots of that. She graciously apologized and said she understood. Pic 2 is just after our conversation. Oh...I'm not a prude...just respect Kims wishes not to take advantage of such situations!!!!

Thanx Tyson, Yeah...my very first "pro" shoot was a VROC (Vulcan Riders Owners Club) Rally in Boscobel WI last year...It was a blast and I was nervous as hell...hehe...One of our PR members set me up with the gig....his name is Chunk. I'm hoping to do some more of those. It's the type of photography I like best...Motorcycle/Car rallys and motorsports in general...and most any action type shots.

The Mrs. and I were on vacation last week and of course, we had to go to the mall. I just detest malls, so while she was doing her senseless shopping, I waited out in the parking lot and figured that this would be a great chance to capture some strangers. I threw on my 1.7 so I could get out there quite aways and hopefully be inconspicuous. I had a blast. People can get some real intresting expressions on their faces at times. However, I think the dude in the first photo caught me. As soon as I shot the pic I pointed the camera towards the sky at a gull flying by. I think that fooled him. I didn't point the camera his way again. I was beginning to feel like a private investigator. :p

Old Timer, I have one of those hats. Design of them is great....comfortable, keeps sun out of eyes and bill can be flipped up easily when it gets in the way of flashes.

Being very shy, I hate to draw attention to myself when taking pictures. I prefer to hide behind my zoom lens and take candids. :p

But a few months ago I went over to the US Whitewater Center to see what kind of action shots I could find. There was a group of kayakers making a run, and I took a couple of shots from the side as they each passed individually. The first guy smiled big and I got a great shot. Another (#2 here) actually yelled to me, "Take MY picture!" You just never know. :D

Mind you - these need some post processing work -

(I'm off to take some PS tutorials now...)

IMO, candids make the most interesting shots. Many years ago I tried my hand at weddings and studio portraiture. Man, was that boring. Candids can be a blast.

Absolutely! I did take pictures for a friend's second wedding a few years ago because they didn't want the formal posed stuff. It was scary but a lot of fun and they LOVED the pictures.

I spoke with this guy for a few minutes earlier this summer and he was completely non-sensical. Something about being set up by the Catholics, the Pope, Bush, secret prisons, forced drug injection, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Babylon, the Bible. Craziest conspiracy theory I've heard yet.
